BS Bar & Grill knocks it out of the park — with great happy hours, live entertainment and tremendous bar fare. BS, by the way, stands for the first initials of the bar's two owners. Of course, the double-entendre is lost on no one. As the folks at BS like to say: "Sometimes it's good to be full of it." The restaurant and sports bar located in St. Ann, Missouri, serves American bar food such as wings, sandwiches, burgers and pizza.
You can call J & A's Bar & Grill a dive. (It's smoky, low-key and highly affordable.) You can call it a sports bar. (The TVs are always tuned into the game, and if a St. Louis team is playing, pitchers are just $5.) Just don't call it your typical Central West End nightspot, because J & A's Bar & Grill is most certainly not that. This is a place for drinkers who like to drink and sports fans who like to watch the Cards. And there's nothing wrong with that. While there's a full menu, it's more a convenience than the reason why people come here.
While offering several meals just under $7, Lehmann's Landing in Earth City provides a slick sports pub with cheap grub to boot. In addition to pool and darts, the bar features live music often. With cheap drinks and weekly specials, Lehmann's booze selection is tops with a low over-head. If you're in love with the food but not the festive atmosphere, you could try the catering services or grab your food to go. You'll be hard pressed to find a better bar in Bridgeton to catch the big game.
Looking for a place to blow off some steam after a long day? Why not take it out on the ample selection of electronic, multi-player games available at the unassuming and family-owned Meramec Jacks. Nestled in a Valley Park industrial yard, this sports bar has all the staples -- darts, Big Buck Hunter, Golden Tee, bags, bowling and the ever elusive bubble hockey. The friendly bartender waits on the tables, serves your bucket of beer cold, makes sure your fried artichoke hearts (or anything from the generous menu) are satisfactory and treats you like one of the family. Meramec Jacks is considerable in size, with four almost separate rooms, each presenting a different atmosphere. And while the game room, bar room and dining room are great, we'd recommend Nascar fans check out the fourth room, which has four full-sized racing suits and half a car on the wall. Yes, you read that right, half a car.
