Since its founding in 1969, Left Bank Book's flagship store in the Central West End has served the St. Louis area as a well-stocked independent bookseller and community anchor. Somewhere in-between cases of books -- old and new -- a store cat purrs happily in its cozy multi-story home. We would, too, if we lived amongst this immaculately organized mecca of novels, magazines, storybooks. With a diverse selection that includes everything from politics and philosophy to cookbooks and children's books, Left Bank sure knows how to keep its readers on their toes. Featuring special events and signings is another function of the store, which hosts authors from near and far year-round.
