Plain White T's

Tuesday, December 20; The Creepy Crawl, (412 North Tucker Boulevard)

Born eight years ago in a suburban Chicago basement, Plain White T's have accomplished a lot over the course of their career, from tours with Saves The Day and Simple Plan to appearances at the Skate and Surf Fest and the Vans Warped Tour. However, the band's crowning achievement is its latest release, All That We Needed. Picking up where Jimmy Eat World's last album left off, tracks like "Take Me Away" are catchy and commercially viable without being dumbed-down. (Describing the band's music as "pop-punk" would be a misnomer, because the emphasis is definitely on the first syllable.) Ultimately, it doesn't really matter how you label PWT's music, because chances are you'll be too busy singing along during their set to ponder such trivialities.
