Saturday's Sunday Punches

The uneasy alliance between the USA and Great Britain has been tested many times since the American Revolution. The War of 1812 saw the U.S. and British duke it out over maritime rights, while recent British exports such as mad cow disease and Susan Boyle have also rocked relations. Now the U.S. and UK national boxing teams will come out swinging for an Olympic-style series of barnburners tonight at Chaifetz Arena (1 South Compton Avenue). The teams promise a Palooka-free event, with U.S. national champions Michael Hunter, Duran Caferro and Terrell Gausha scheduled to fight the best the British have to offer. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the bell will sound at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $10 to $57. To secure ringside bragging rights or reserve nosebleed seats, call 314-534-1111 or visit www.thechaifetzarena.com.
