Get Busy

Everyone these days is into multitasking. Why just watch TV when you can simultaneously be reading the news online and going through your mail? Or why merely enjoy a night out with your friends when you can be tweeting about said night out and playing a game on your iPhone? Yes, we're busy (if constant use of technology counts as "busy"), and we have to cram as much as we can into a day, which is why events such as St. Louis ArtWorks' Nite Brite should totally fit into our plans. See, at this party, held at Lumen (2201 Locust Street; www.stlartworks.org), not only will folks enjoy all of the expected party accoutrements — food, drink and the like — but by attending and buying a $40-to-$50 ticket, people also will be helping the artsy group. St. Louis ArtWorks' mission is a bit of a multitasker as well — the organization strives to provide apprenticeships for young people in a variety of artsy fields. The Nite Brite night out runs from 6 to 9 p.m., and there's an afterparty at Lucas Park Grille (1234 Washington Avenue). Feel free to keep the entire Internet world apprised of your do-gooding nature throughout the evening, and you ought to go ahead and spread the word about the org as well.
