No Time Like Wine Time

With our wine, we like to snack on a few slices of cheese, but we love to gain a bit of knowledge. But do we attend a wine class every time we indulge ourselves with a few sips? Of course not. We do, however, look for learning opportunities when we can. The downtown branch of Left Bank Books (321 North 10th Street; 314-436-3049 or www.left-bank.com) presents just such an educational opportunity today when it hosts author Todd Kliman. He wrote The Wild Vine: A Forgotten Grape and the Untold Story of American Wine all about the history of the beloved Norton grape (at least it's beloved here in Missouri), and he shares details about the book, including his research here in Missouri, at a book-signing, wine-tasting and all-around-fun event. The good times begin at 2 p.m. and are free, but you'll likely want a copy of the book ($25) for Kliman to sign, so bring along some cash.
