Take a Bough

It's time to branch out

Childhood is all about firsts, and your little one's introduction to theater should be a special, memorable event. The Imaginary Theatre Company can provide that perfect premier experience with its production of The Little Fir Tree. This 45-minute play is suitable for all ages, and it tells the tale of a small tree and a boy who celebrate Christmas together each year. Throughout the production we learn about friendship, patience and loneliness, all while enjoying a nice little holiday story. To add the lesson of generosity to your day at the Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves), bring along a donation for Stray Rescue of St. Louis — the no-kill animal shelter needs everything from dog treats to litter boxes, and from food and water bowls to old towels and blankets. A full list and more information can be found at www.repstl.org. The Little Fir Tree is presented at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, and at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (December 20, 22 and 23). Tickets cost $6; call 314-968-4925 to make a purchase.
