Dance-Enhanced

Your lunch hour was never so fun

Not a lot of artistic expression went into making that bologna sandwich, unless you count that mustardy smiley face (you shouldn't). And eating said sammy usually wouldn't be that much more exciting or expressive, but at noon on Friday, September 19, and Friday, September 26, you can add some artsy pizzazz to your luncheon by attending the free Dine on Dance concerts. During these outdoor performances, lunch-breakers have a chance to experience all the beauty of movement inherent to a dance concert while enjoying a nice day, a breather from work and that bologna sandwich (or whatever lunch you choose to bring). Expect to see original modern choreography, much of which will be site-specific, along with Colombian folk dances, live drumming and more. The first Dine on Dance event is held at the Market in the Loop (6655 Delmar Boulevard, University City); the second is at Strauss Park (North Grand and Washington boulevards). These concerts are presented by ANNONYArts, so call 314-721-0052 or visit www.annonyarts.org for more information.
