Where's the Beach?

In Kirkwood, of course

The Magic House (516 South Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood) has always lived up to its magical name, enchanting kids with electrifying exhibits, amazing displays and a huge slide. But today the children's museum takes the magic a step further — back in time and to the seaside! From 5 to 8 p.m., you and your family can pretend that you're on a 1920s boardwalk during the Boardwalk Beach Blast held outside the house at Sandcastle Beach. With the towering castle nearby, beachgoers can get their faces painted and have their pictures taken, look for treasures in the sand, draw with sidewalk chalk, and more! The party costs $18 per person to attend, and that will not only admit you to the blast, but it will also net you cotton candy, sno-cones, corndogs and other fair treats. To sign up in advance, call the Magic House at 314-822-8900, extension 20, or visit www.magichouse.org.
