X Marks the Plots

It’s an infrequent occurrence when a new play debuts in St. Louis -- it’s even more rare when seven of them premiere on the same evening, at the same location. But that’s what the Tin Ceiling’s 7/24 X festival is all about. Seven directors, fourteen writers and as many actors as are necessary to conceive, write and stage seven brand-new plays will do just that in a 24-hour span (the X stands for “ten,” because this is the tenth installment of the 7/24 program). Each play runs about ten minutes, and who knows what you’ll see -- nothing has been written yet. But it will take place at 8 p.m. at the Chapel (6238 Alexander Drive; 314-723-0873 or www.thechapelvenue.com). Tickets are $10.
