A Panel of Panel Experts

If you have even a passing interest in modern illustration and/or comic book art, plan to hit up the Homegrown Comic Jam tonight from 7 to 11 p.m. at the St. Louis Artists' Guild (2 Oak Knoll Park, Clayton; 314-727-6266 or www.stlouisartistsguild.org). Local comic artists converge on the gallery with Sharpies and the drive to draw, and then make art en masse. Some of it will no doubt be collaborative -- you can't get illustrators together and then expect them to not embellish one another's work, especially if it's still in progress -- and all of it will be spontaneous. The idea here is for the artists to let the moment take over, and to let their personal style be their guide. Admission to the jam is free, but keep in mind Hot City Franks is an event sponsor, so you're probably going to want to bring cash in order to get a hot dog.
