Fear the Darkness

Halloween is creeping up on us once again and in addition to holiday staples like Mars bars and Spider-Man masks, area retailers are stocking up on adult diapers and barf bags to accommodate preventative-minded patrons of St. Louis' renowned haunted house The Darkness (1525 South Eighth Street; www.scarefest.com). Along with its world famous two-stories-of-terror Haunted House, this year's attractions include a bonus "terror-vision 3D haunted house," a live reptile section and the Monster Museum featuring life-sized replicas of all your favorite monsters such as Wolfman and The Creature From The Black Lagoon. The Darkness is open from 7 p.m. to midnight every night of the week beginning on Wednesday, October 12, and it remains open through Saturday, November 5. Tickets are $18 to $20.
