The Clamorgans

In The Clamorgans: One Family's History of Race in America, Historian Julie Winch chronicles how one family navigated racial turmoil from the 1780s through the 1950s. The Clamorgans' story is especially useful for race studies -- by the 20th century, their heritage included African American, Creole, French, Spanish, Brazilian, Jewish and white roots. Julie Winch will read from her book and discuss her research today at Library Headquarters (1640 South Lindbergh Boulevard) at 7 p.m. For more information, visit slpl.lib.mo.
