If you're interested in the state of modern classical music, the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra's concerts at the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts (3716 Washington Boulevard; 314-754-1850 or www.pulitzerarts.org) should be on your radar. David Robertson and colleagues select new music that will utilize and enhance the open space of the Pulitzer so that sound and vision are both activated. Tonight at 7:30 p.m., Robertson presents Nico Muhly's Drones and Violin and Morton Feldman's Three Voices. Muhly's piece was inspired by his love for the "constant noise" that surrounds us; the steady hum of refrigerators and the intermittent ticks in your heating ducts become a probing and persistent piano figure backed by cyclic violin drones. Tickets to the performance are $10 to $20.
