The Shell Game

The big-screen reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is upon us, and the children of the '90s are not happy. Why mess with a good thing? The Webster University Film Series presents the original live-action (emphasis on "action") Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at 8 p.m. tonight at Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Avenue, Maplewood; 314-968-7487 or www.webster.edu/filmseries). Watch as four ordinary amphibians become ninja crimefighters thanks to a toxic-waste spill, and then use their powers to protect the citizens of New York City from a band of rogue ninjas. Bring in intrepid journalist April O'Neil, a slightly crazy sidekick in Casey Jones and the voice of Corey Feldman, and you've got turtle power. Keep an eye open for the young Sam Rockwell, who leads a gang of thugs. Admission is $5.
