Sky's the Limit

When done properly, collaboration brings new life to the familiar. This principle applies if your late-night lifeblood teams up with a beloved snack (Doritos Locos tacos, anyone?), as well as if talented dancers come together to create a new work. You've already likely indulged in the results of the former type of teamwork, but this weekend the other kind of collaboration takes the stage. For Dance St. Louis' New Dance Horizons III, the Big Muddy Dance Company, the Modern American Dance Company and Saint Louis Ballet partner with celebrated choreographers from around the country, and if the two previous dance collaborative productions are any indication, this world-premiere concert will make an exhilarating impression. Performances happen at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (October 10 and 11) at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road). Tickets cost $28 to $30; call 314-516-4949 or visit www.touhill.org to make a purchase.
