Infernal Delight

Lady Macbeth is a prize role for an actress, so Anna Netrebko should be right at home in the Metropolitan Opera's production of Giuseppi Verdi's Macbeth. Netrebko has the powerhouse voice of a great soprano, but she also possesses the acting prowess to give Lady Macbeth her due. Verdi follows Shakespeare's famous play closely with only minor changes, and so it's the murderous madam who summons the "ministers of hell" to kill King Duncan, and then does the deed herself. Serbian baritone Zeljko Lucic stars opposite Netrebko as her less ambitious husband. Tonight at 6:30 p.m. the AMC Chesterfield 14 (3000 Chesterfield Mall, Chesterfield; www.fathomevents.com) presents an encore screening of the Met's Macbeth, recorded at an early live performance. Tickets are $18.
