Afflicted: Daughters of Salem

Long before Gossip Girl told her first secret, the young ladies of Salem ignited a series of events that would make even Blair Waldorf raise a perfectly arched eyebrow. In Puritan New England, a group of girls -- bored senseless, desperate for some amount of fun -- enter into a pact that will lead to vicious fear-mongering and the unraveling of a community. The story of the Salem witch trials comes to life in Afflicted: Daughters of Salem, presented by Metro Theater Company. This engrossing play shows the havoc wreaked by a society that suppresses young voices.
