People who own businesses or work in Clayton will get a chance to address the city council tonight in a meeting to discuss a proposed smoking-ban for the St. Louis suburb.

Last month the council held a similar meeting to get reaction from Clayton residents -- many of whom support the ban. (The city recently conducted a survey that found 77 percent of residents want the city to prohibit indoor smoking in public spaces.)

Several bar and restaurant owners, meanwhile, contend that the ban would cost them customers and could force them to go out of business.

The meeting tonight begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall (10 N. Bemiston). Click here for guidelines on how you can address the council tonight.
