Police Investigate Suspicious Fire in North City

Update 11:29 a.m.: This post initially cited a report from KMOV.com stating that two suspects involved in this morning's fire accidentally burned themselves when lighting the blaze and were taken to the hospital. St. Louis police tell Daily RFT that was not the case.

According to police, witnesses say they saw people run from the scene but gave conflicting statements about the description of those individuals. Police do confirm, however, that the fire at Cox Coin Laundry and Storm Auto Repair appeared to be intentionally set.

Word is that the suspects who torched a north St. Louis laundromat and auto-collision repair shop this morning accidentally caught themselves on fire when starting the blaze.

The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. in the 4200 block of Natural Bridge. Officials tell KMOV that two suspects were taken to the hospital for injuries. No word on their current condition. Meanwhile, the building that housed Storm Auto Repair was Cox Coin Laundry was left with severe damage, especially to the roof.
