Daily Beast Profiles Dana Loesch, with Nod to RFT

The Daily Beast ran a lengthy profile yesterday of our town's Dana Loesch, darling of the conservative punditry, citing our own profile, penned by former staffer Kristen Hinman two years ago.

The Beast article suggests that Loesch, who grew up in Arnold, attended Webster University and co-founded the St. Louis Tea Party, is the new Ann Coulter.

In reference to Loesch's first-time meeting with the late conservative provocateur Andrew Breitbart, the Beast author writes:

"[Breitbart] recognized that she's a triple threat, telling the Riverfront Times in 2010 that Loesch "was almost the embodiment of everything that I want to happen with journalism. She has the ability to write, she has the ability to report and has every stellar quality a communicator could possibly want for television, radio and Internet-based forms of media." He ended by saying: "She's beautiful, she's smart, she's fearless. She's a pure rising star." "

Loesch originally registered with the Democratic party but switched over to the conservative side after 9/11. She is a regular contributor for CNN, and she hosts The "Dana Show: The Conservative Alternative," which broadcasts on KFTK FM NewsTalk 97.1. She got in trouble earlier this year when she said on her radio show that she'd "drop trou" and pee on a dead Taliban soldier, inaccurately suggesting that the Taliban were responsible for 9/11. Late last year she dropped out of the St. Louis Tea Party that she helped to launch.
