A 24-year-old Jennings man has been charged with stabbing his girlfriend to death on Wednesday.

Phillip M. Huffman of the 8800 block of Maya Lane in Jennings now faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action.

A St. Louis County Police spokesman says that officers came to Huffman's address at 3 pm Wednesday after fielding a call about a domestic disturbance so heated that someone got stabbed.

(It's unclear whether Huffman himself made the call.)

When cops arrived, they found Huffman's 23-year-old girlfriend already dead.

They also found a baby, only eight days old. The cops put the baby into the custody of the Children's Division of Protective Services.

Meanwhile, they put Huffman in handcuffs.

He's now being held on bond of $1 million.
