Ride The Same-Sex Marriage Bus From Your Living Room

Heartland Transport, a documentary film about same-sex couples hopping on buses to Iowa to get married, is coming to a theater near you -- really near you -- tonight.

The short film chronicles seventeen couples making the trip in 2009, just after Iowa legalized same-sex marriage. The award-winning film, directed by Cody Stokes, has been making the festival rounds nationwide. It's been licensed for two years by the Documentary Channel -- and makes it small-screen debut tonight.

Every month since the documentary was filmed, buses are still making the trip from St. Louis to Iowa -- in fact, the next one leaves next week with a stowaway reporter on board. It's a project of Show Me No Hate, the marriage-equity coalition spearheaded by Ed Reggi.

Fire up your popcorn machine and have some friends over tonight! You can see it at 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. on channel 267 on DirecTV and at 12:30 a.m. on channel 197 on Dish.
