Sunset Hills Cop Charged with Five Felonies

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch announced today that his office has charged Sunset Hills police officer Christine Miller with four counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of second-degree assault for the March 21, 2009, crash she caused which killed four people.

Shortly before 2 a.m. that morning, Miller was driving the wrong way on Dougherty Ferry Road when her Mitsubishi struck a Honda turning right from Des Peres Road.

The criminal investigation went on for several months; McCulloch today announced that Miller's blood alcohol content was 0.169 almost three hours after the crash. That is twice the legal limit.

Miller was arrested today. Because of her fragile medical condition stemming from injuries she sustained in the crash, Miller is confined at home on house arrest with a $200,000 bond.
