St. Louis police report that a 27-year-old man inside the home heard someone forcing his way into the residence around midnight yesterday.

The man told police that he then saw Robinson inside the home and fired off multiple shots. Robinson, of the 1200 block of Blue Grass Drive in nearby Bellefontaine Neighbors, tried to run but collapsed outside the property. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Court records show that a man with the same name and year of birth as Robinson pleaded guilty to burglary charges in St. Louis in 2008 and has pleaded guilty multiple times for marijuana possession and driving a vehicle without a proper license.

The unnamed shooter is cooperating with authorities. At this point it's not clear if he owned the home or was just staying there. KSDK Channel 5 reports that the house was under renovation.
