While most think of Lake of the Ozarks as a summertime vacation spot, recreational mecca or a place for a sexy party, officials with the city of Lake Ozark admitted in a plea agreement with that they were using the lake for more than just fun in the sun.
According to the Associated Press, Mayor Johnni Franzeskas signed a plea deal late Monday in federal court that states the city is responsible for dumping 15,000 gallons of raw sewage into the lake, back in September 2007.
In late July, the city's former public works director, Richard L. Sturgeon, pleaded guilty to a similar offense -- failing to notify the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
