Local Talx Corp. Stirs Controversy in Contesting Jobless Claims, Says NY Times

At least one St. Louis enterprise is exploding in these dire economic days - though not without naysayers.

Sunday's New York Times had a front-page story on Talx, a company headquartered near Westport Plaza that helps other companies -- including many in the Fortune 500 -- challenge unemployment claims. Talx's service can save firms money because if fewer former employees collect jobless benefits, the firms pay less in unemployment taxes.

The controversy, according the Gray Lady, is this:
