Photos: Albert Pujols Decides to Let Missouri Governor Live at All-Star Press Conference

The 2009 All-Star game hype machine got churning today at Busch Stadium, where Cardinal and MLB brass, former players and politicos sat on bar stools and touted the the midsummer classic being played here for the for the first time since a 106-degree day in 1966.

The July 14 game will cap off a three-day affair in St. Louis, which begins with "Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game," (July 12) and continues to "Gatorade All-Star Workout Day featuring the State Farm Home Run Derby" (July 13.)

Pujols joins Ozzie Smith as this year's "MLB All-Star FanFest spokesperson."

"Hopefully we can end this streak, this losing streak, the AL is killing us," Pujols joked, when asked about this year's game.
