From the green chile cheeseburger to the German chocolate milkshake, Gut Check will gladly try just about anything from Five Star Burgers. Eater National ranked its burgers among the "25 hottest" in the country last year, and the menu even gets the Veggielante stamp of approval. Just in case you missed it, Five Star Burgers (312 South Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood; 314-394-2250) opened a second location in Kirkwood earlier this winter. Here's a quick look inside.

The menu at Five Star currently features fifteen burgers and sandwiches ($7.95-$12), with options ranging from stacked angus-beef patties and bison to Scottish salmon and chicken breast. For some added health points, Five Star also offers soups and six different salads. Those who dare to challenge the durability of their waistbands can opt for additional sides including cheese curds and sweet-potato fries with maple cream.

The bar features specialty cocktails and boozy shakes. A long list of bottled and canned beer as well as a selection of wine are also available. Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream loads up the dessert menu with its frozen treats -- or for the adventurous, opt for some dessert from Andy's Frozen Custard across the street.
