Steve's Hot Dogs (2131 Marconi Avenue; 314-762-9899) will open its second location at 3457 Magnolia Avenue in Tower Grove East on Monday, August 18. The soft opening will kick off at 4 p.m.

"Everything's good at this point. We're putting together a few staff members, the furniture arrives on Saturday," owner Steve Ewing tells Gut Check. "We had our last inspection today. We're looking really good."

Steve's Hot Dogs No. 2 is adjacent to the Tick Tock Tavern, the beloved south-city bar that is being revived this summer. Though the Tick Tock won't necessarily be open by Monday, it will be soon.

The restaurant was funded via a wildly successful Indiegogo campaign which exceeded its goal in early July, allowing Ewing to move forward with the location.

"It's going to be awesome. We'll have everything that's on the Hill location on the menu here," Ewing says, with the addition of some mac & cheese dishes. "We'll give away some T-shirts, stickers, things like that. Hopefully we'll get the Tick Tock open, but one way or another, we'll have something going."
