St. Patrick's Irish Party @ Schlafly Tap Room
Keep the Irish going at this fundraiser for St. Patrick's Center, which helps fight homelessness in St. Louis. There will be food, drinks, raffles and best of all, unlimited Schlafly beer. From 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $40-$50, available here.
Saturday (Mar. 21):
Whiskey, Beer and Dine @ Cedar Lake Cellars
Instead of the usual wine dinner, this four-course meal pairs with Guinness and Irish whiskey. Pair a Jameson cocktail with North Atlantic smoked salmon with chive-herb cheese on Irish soda bread, a steak and Guinness potpie with a pint of Guinness and whiskey cake paired with Irish Mist poured over shaved ice. Kegs and Eggs @ Quincy Street Bistro
Our pick for the best breakfast with a hangover is back again, for the final time with departing chef Rick Lewis. Each meal comes with craft beer. Choose from entrees like barbecue pork cinnamon rolls, smoked brisket Benedict with bourbon-barbecue hollandaise, smoked banana bread French toast and more. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Sunday (Mar. 22):
Novel Cuisine: The Janissary Tree @ Kitchen Conservatory
The literary food series continues with The Janissary Tree by Jason Goodwin, a story of "intrigue of the Ottoman Empire of the 19th century with a murder-mystery." You'll eat dolmas, cucumbers with yogurt, dill-stuffed mussels, chicken with walnuts in pomegranate sauce, basmati rice pilaf with apricots, and baklava while discussing the book. From 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 each; register here.
