Were it not for the stark contrast between Newstead's beautifully rehabbed exterior (including the titular tower, which someone should adopt as the logo of the Grove's resurgence before I copyright the idea) and the generally shabby state of its surroundings, you might imagine it as a place where two or three generations of neighbors have met for a pint and a bite to eat.
