Bissinger's Hosts "Spirited Chocolate" Vodka and Chocolate Pairing

Chocolate and vodka may not be an obvious pairing, but here at Gut Check International Headquarters, we partake of both liberally.

So naturally, when Bissinger's (32 Maryland Plaza; 314-367-7750) announced a Pearl vodka and chocolate confection pairing, we said, HELL YES BRING IT ON. Actually, it's a classy event, so we said, "Yes, please, it would be our pleasure to attend."

Bissinger's is calling the event Spritied Chocolate, and it will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the Maryland Plaza location.

Bissinger's chief chocolatier, Dave Owens, has cooked up some yummy treats to pair with various flavored vodkas made by Pearl.

He has made a Pearl Black Label Vodka and cocoa nib infusion for the event, which will also feature an artisan cheese and charcuterie board paired with a Pearl Cucumber Vodka spritzer. The next course will be Pearl Coconut Vodka served neat with Bissinger's coconut caramel chocolate bar made from Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa. Pearl Chocolate Covered Cherry Vodka will be paired, of course, with chocolate-covered cherries, and the piece de resistance will be a Pearl Wedding Cake Vodka float with a dulce de leche brownie and ice cream.

Is anyone else majorly hungry yet?

A representative from Pearl will be there to talk about the vodkas, and Dave Owens will discuss his chocolate creations. The shop will be selling chocolate at the event, and it will also raffle off a gift basket filled with goodies.
