OK, so this might not have attracted as much attention as other weekend news from the Delmar Loop, but Tavolo V (6118 Delmar Boulevard; 314-721-4333) is now open.
Tavolo V is the latest restaurant from Michael Del Pietro, whose growing empire includes Sugo's Spaghetteria (10419 Clayton Road, Frontenac; 314-569-0400), Babbo's Spaghetteria (17402 Chesterfield Airport Road, Chesterfield; 636-536-0000), Via Vino (10427 Clayton Road, Frontenac; 314-569-0405) and Pazzo's Pizzeria (140 South Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood; 314-821-6500).
For now, Tavolo V is open for dinner from 4:30-11 p.m. daily. The restaurant plans to add lunch service in a week or so, according to the employee with whom I spoke this morning. Tavolo V's menu includes a large selection of hot and cold antipasti, many of them vegetable dishes, as well as pizzas, pastas and a few entrees.
