Neko Case: A Video Compendium

Many of us over here at RFT HQ are getting pretty primed for Neko Case’s show tonight at the Pageant. Our excitement is entirely justified – our preview of her show contends that case is “an artist with a singular, if often grim, vision of American music. Her songs often function as fairy tales with nightmare endings or morality tales with no discernible moral — knotty, hand-hewn tunes that are lovely, dark and deep, often all at once.” (Read all of Christian Schaeffer’s write-up here.)

Below is a satchelful of YouTube videos to prepare you for tonight’s show, working backwards through her last few albums. If, for some reason, you weren’t planning on coming to the show tonight, let some of these songs work their magic on you. Look for a review of the show on the blog tomorrow.
