Stages St. Louis opens its new season with its 100th production, the boogie-down classic Smokey Joe's Cafe. Directed and choreographed by Stephen Bourneuf, the revue stars the rock & roll canon of Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller. The duo are in the Songwriters Hall of Fame for hits such as "Jailhouse Rock," "Yakety Yak" and "Stand By Me," all of which are in Smokey Joe's Cafe. Nearly 40 Lieber and Stoller hits are packed into the show. Performances take place at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday (May 29 through June 28) at the Robert G.
