St. Louis has been fortunate to host the Soulard Farmers Market since 1779, offering a central location for local farmers to sell their crops, dairy and meats. As the city has expanded, similar regional markets have been established around the metro area, such as the Kirkwood Farmers Market, and others that open once a week, such as in Webster, Tower Grove Park, Maplewood and Ferguson, to name a few.
But the area is rich in produce stands and markets as well. These are open daily and peppered throughout the city. For food lovers who aren’t able to catch a weekly pop up or travel far, these venues offer fresh-from-the-farm produce right around the corner.
