A Literary Legend Takes the Stage

Rumors of his death are greatly exaggerated no longer, unfortunately. The master of wit who was Mark Twain can never truly be resurrected, but legendary actor Hal Holbrook brings to life a striking impression in Mark Twain Tonight!, Holbrook's 58-year-old one-man play based on the life and works of Twain. Tonight! is largely dedicated to Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, supplemented by a smattering of comically mirthful selections, subject to substitution and rearranging for each performance. Holbrook takes the stage tonight, and tonight only, at the University of Missouri St. Louis' Touhill Performing Arts Center (One University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-4949 or www.touhill.org). Tickets are $38 to $68.
