"Alpha" for "Awesome"

For those of you out there just dying to meet Ms. Day — why surely she must have hundreds of suitors! — you'll find her at the Greek Festival hosted by St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (4967 Forest Park Avenue). She'll be the one enjoying plate after plate of lamb shank, spanikopita, pastitsio and more, including baklava sundae desserts (as you know, she can't resist the sweets!). Of course, she won't be the only one filling up and having fun at the weekend-long affair — the fest runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday (September 4 through 6) — which might make picking her out of the crowd a bit challenging. But because she will be in good company, as people from the Central West End and all over the region gather together for food and fellowship, you won't be disappointed by anyone with whom you choose to share a table. In addition to the eats, the fest offers dance performances and church tours throughout each day, along with a market full of take-home food and non-edible treats as well.
