Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade 

[POSTPONED DUE TO RECENT CIVIL PROTESTS. NO NEW DATE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED.]In American culture it's not Thanksgiving without a parade to usher in the holiday season. What better way to celebrate, St. Louis style, than by gathering to watch the Ameren Missouri Thanksgiving Day Parade roll through downtown? In its 30th year, the parade is filled with with local floats, more than fifteen marching bands, dance teams -- and the man in red himself: Fredbird, the Cardinals mascot -- to wish you a festive season. As always, Santa Claus will stop by to say "Ho, Ho, Ho!" before we all head home to gobble, gobble, gobble. 8:45 a.m. Thu., Nov. 27. Seventh and Market streets (www.christmasinstlouis.org). Free.
