And Fleetwood Mac's Nowhere in Sight

Imagine a dinner party where the guests are wealthy people of no small renown. The hosts are the deputy mayor of New York and his wife — but she's missing, and he's bleeding from a gunshot wound to the earlobe. Now, is there any possible way that this party doesn't end up on the front page of every newspaper in the Western hemisphere? If the guests have anything to say about it, nobody will ever hear a word about what happened at this ill-fated party. In Neil Simon's farcical play Rumors, the high-and-mighty go to great lengths to maintain their reputations — even going so far as to abandon what dignity they have in order to preserve the semblance of dignity. The Theatre Guild of Webster Groves (517 Theatre Lane, Webster Groves; or 314-962-0876) spreads some Rumors at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (January 4 through 13). Tickets are $12 to $15.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Jan. 4. Continues through Jan. 13, 2008
