Art for You, You and You

(And you)

Even though artist/teacher/visionary Jenna Bauer would state her mission much more humbly, we're pretty sure her goal is to bring art to everyone in this city — if not through the works she paints herself, then through the children who are taught important art skills at her South City Open Studio and Gallery and at the Potter's Workshop. And as if these efforts alone don't disseminate enough creative vibes, there's her Wall Ball fundraiser, happening this year at the Third Degree Glass Factory (5200 Delmar Boulevard). During this popular event, attendees have the opportunity to watch 50 local artists — including Janice Wallace, Charles Houska, Jason Wallace Triefenbach and Justin Tolentino — create in their preferred medium (ranging from clay to hair!) and bid on the in-progress masterpieces in a silent auction. The best part? All of the proceeds go to help Bauer do more good work at SCOSAG! To share in the wonderful cycle of art, buy a ticket ($35 in advance) at Left Bank Books (399 North Euclid Avenue), Hartford Coffee Company (3974 Hartford Street) or at one of the other locations (call 314-865-0060 or visit for a list); tickets cost $50 at the door. Snacks are free, and drinks cost extra. Wall Ball runs from 7 to 11 p.m.
