Baroque Melodies 

Distinguished, renowned, outstanding: these just begin to describe the Tschaikovsky St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra. The musicians have a rich and layered history; Founded after the end of World War II, the group tackled many different compositions and styles of classical music to build its repertoire into a vast fortune. To this day, the orchestra performs pieces by historically significant Baroque era figures such as Vivaldi, Handel and Bach as well as works by contemporary composers. Their stop at Lindenwood University's J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts (2300 West Clay Street, St. Charles) tonight at 8 p.m. is part of its inaugural U.S. Tour.
