Beer on the Half Shell

Schlafly makes some undeniably great beer. Have you had one lately? If not, the Schlafly Stout and Oyster Festival provides you the perfect opportunity to get out to Schlafly Tap Room (2100 Locust Street; 314-241-2337 or www.schlafly.com) to drink some beer in the presence of 30,000 fresh oysters. Pro shuckers flown in from both coasts will be liberating the little mollusks from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and from 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday (March 25 and 26), which you can then wash down with three varieties of stout: Oatmeal Stout, Kaldi's Coffee Stout, and the seasonal Nitro Irish Stout. Duddy Breeks and Gumbohead provide the soundtrack for your slurping and sipping on Friday, while Rusty Nail and Rough Shop keep you entertained on Saturday. Admission is free both nights, but you'll need money to pay for your oysters and your stout.
