Best Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary Brunch Buffet

A truly great bloody mary is a little bit magic, to be honest. Not the sort of magic you see the bartenders in high-toned clubs performing, with their twirling and tossing and mixing on the fly. No, the magic of the mary is much smaller and quieter, the magic of a big heaping helping of the good stuff on the morning after. And when it comes to the creation of true bloody mary magic, the only way to get it just right is to make it yourself. Every Saturday and Sunday morning, amateur practitioners of the bloody art flock to the venerable Brandt's Café to ply their trade at Brandt's magnificent bloody mary buffet. There's a little something for everyone, no matter how exotic or mundane the taste, with wasabi and blue cheese-stuffed olives sitting happily next to the traditional celery and Tabasco. There are even helpful little recipe cards, in case you aren't sure just how righteous your bloody kung fu is. And the best part? It's one of the few times in life you can get drunk at ten in the morning and not expect one of those annoying interventions a few days later. Your first bloody mary costs $9, and each additional one is $3.
