The St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission has taglined the South Grand district "St. Louis' International Neighborhood." As non-visitors who take great pride in the area's ethnic eats, we can only say:
Duh! With its relentless representation of Vietnamese and Thai fare, not to mention multiple Middle Eastern and Italian joints and dashes of French, Japanese, Chinese and Mexican, this six-block stretch rivals the multiculti smorgasbord of Washington, D.C.'s Adams Morgan neighborhood -- or, at least, the food court at EPCOT. And what South Grand offers in quantity, it backs up in quality; longstanding faves like Pho Grand, The King and I, and Kabob International, to name only a few, offer many of the best cheap eats in town.
