Webster Film Series

Even 35 years on, the Webster Film Series continues to go broader, wider and deeper in its offerings year after year. Where else can you see a series of narrative films on the topic of modern Native American identity and a special double bill of Bonanza episodes with opera story lines in the same month? Do you like French films? WFS screens 'em (Un Flic). Do you like lowbrow pop-culture gems from the '80s? WFS screens 'em (Big Trouble in Little China). Do you want to see some of those partisan political documentaries that tell you everything wrong with the other side's point of view? WFS screens 'em (Citizen Koch). Nowhere else in town will you see the idea of cinema as a unique and vital art form celebrated the way it's celebrated here, which is to say, continuously, joyously and often.
