Seven Gables Inn

The Seven Gables Inn, listed on National Register of Historic Places, comprises only 32 rooms, each one quaint and warm. The plush carpet, soft color scheme and free continental breakfast give the place a B&B feel. But the inn also offers comforts associated with large hotels: free Wi-Fi, an elegant courtyard and a full restaurant and bar. Marked by steep roof lines and a giant chimney above the front door, the Tudor-style structure was originally built in 1926 as two separate apartment buildings sharing a storefront. The property was purchased in 1986 by developer Garrett Balke, who overhauled the building, connected the two residential wings and founded the inn. It was recently taken over by a local hotel management group; the new owners plan to replace the beds and TVs and repaint the faade. Nightly rates range from $109 to $169.
