Ever since Red Foley and his Ozark Jubilee put Springfield, Missouri, on the country map in the '50s, a host of rockers and twangers have made their home (or made career records) there. Lou Whitney -- producer, bassist and force of rock & roll's wildest nature -- has been there every step of the post-Jubilee way. He's the head racketeer behind the Big Noise from Springfield tour, a showcase of Missouri roots power that should raise the bar-band bar straight through the roof. But Whitney also leads The Morells and lends a guiding hand to the Domino Kings, Brian Capps and The Bel Airs -- all of whom are playing in St. Louis on Friday.
