Bitch + The Exciting Conclusion

8:30 p.m. Monday, April 28. The Bluebird, 2706 Olive Street

You may remember queercore folkster Bitch from her days duetting with girlfriend Animal on Righteous Babe records. Though the pair of politicos broke up, Bitch found fresh breath with her new band the Exciting Conclusion and her self-started label Short Story. Still opinionated but considerably less browbeating, the Exciting Conclusion brings a post-punk rock bent to Bitch's stripped-down violin and vocals, providing a far sturdier foundation for her slam poetic prowess. Where she once smacked of Ani, she now nods to Karen O, begetting Bitch a frontwomanship that will appeal to supporters and detractors alike — and compounding her musical allure without sacrificing her beliefs.
